Budding gardeners have been helping local businesses to blossom while boosting funds for projects around our Tadpole Garden Village.
The second in a series of Open Plot events organised by the TGV in Bloom team has been hailed a huge success, with almost £300 raised from the sale of home ground herbs, plants and vegetables.
This will be added to the £700 raised from the first event in March. All proceeds will be put to a good use in and around the Village, as well as helping to fund the group’s major project for this year, the completion of the Thankful Village Memorial Site at the end of The Stray.
Some 15 businesses joined the local community earlier this month, each hosting their own stall selling a range of items including food, drink and crafts.
Every visitor was also registered for a free oven clean which will take place at a future open plot event.
And there is more to come …. The first pick of strawberries and plenty of raffle prizes will be on offer at the next Open Plot event on Sunday 4 July from 10am until 1pm at the DeMorgan Crescent allotments.
