Trainers at the ready for London Marathon runners

Friday 26th April 2019

This time last year we were congratulating Tadpole Garden Village community mobiliser, Chris Tanner, for his brilliant efforts in the 2018 London Marathon – raising an amazing £2,800 for the Movember Foundation and completing the marathon in 5 hours, 26 minutes. This year – we’re cheering on a new set of runners – from Tadpole Garden Village and Preim!

When we welcomed Jenny Bryant to the Preim team last summer, we knew she was an incredibly keen runner – and that she had the London Marathon in her sights. Fast-forward to today and it’s hard to believe the race is almost upon us and all of Jenny’s hard work in training is coming to fruition. Jenny completed the Edinburgh Marathon in 2018 – and received entry to the London Marathon for April 2019, having completed the Edinburgh race in the ‘Good for Age’ category! A brilliant achievement.

This year Jenny and her partner will not only take part in the London Marathon but they will also tackle the Edinburgh Marathon once again, just four weeks after London, and then the Great North Run too! Jenny will be fundraising for the very worthy charity Sense, which you can find out more about over on her fundraising page.

Joining Jenny at the starting line of the 38th London Marathon will be a group of runners from Tadpole Garden Village. With Preim as the estate management company for the growing Swindon development, we wanted to celebrate the runners’ efforts too – and give you the chance to donate to their good causes.

Ali Gibb, Katie Webster, Peter Firth and Rob Frak are all Tadpole Garden Village residents who will be taking part in the 2019 marathon – and they all have different ambitions. Katie is running not just the London Marathon but four other marathons this year too, Peter is taking on the challenge after promising himself, ten years ago, he would never run another marathon and for Rob, this will be his first attempt at the 26 miles!

Each of them is also raising money for fantastic causes, close to their hearts. You can learn more about them, the charities they are supporting, how to donate and even their favourite Swindon running routes in this interview with Chris Tanner.

We would like to wish all those taking part in the London Marathon – at Preim, Tadpole Garden Village and all other developments – the very best in this year’s race!
