The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

The long-awaited Platinum Jubilee weekend brought celebrations all across the UK. We saw people enjoying the local street parties, some watching the parade by the Buckingham Palace and others getting their inner master chef out baking all sorts of delicious treats in celebration!

A few of our sites really got into the Jubilee spirit as we can see John Jackson our caretaker from The Battle of Britain site in Badersfield pictured above with a sponge cake (possibly all to himself, hence the happy face!) and the newspaper’s headline highlighting this significant time.

Next up we’ve had residents of Tadpole Garden Village entering the Jubilee Bake Off organised by the newly opened Arkell’s pub called The Strawberry Thief. Residents entered a few different categories such as showstopper, traybake, strawberry and cupcakes. 

It goes without saying that it was one sweet Sunday morning for all parties involved, especially Shaun – the head chef of The Strawberry Thief and a judge of the competition.All entries were superb and so the judge has decided that…everyone’s a winner!

 

The team at Preim also brought the Jubilee spirit into the head office where David Dunkley, Head of Support Services delighted everyone with a Bakewell Tart.

Preim were also delighted to be able to sponsor other various Jubilee community events across our portfolio by providing donations for activities such as face painting and bouncy castles. We are thankful to have such great residents on the estates that we manage who put a huge amount of time and effort into volunteering to organise community events on their estates.
