Fit for a king – new community website showcases vision and heritage at Kingsfleet, Thetford

Wednesday 22nd January 2020

Kingsfleet is a new community being created in the heart of the stunning Norfolk countryside. Boasting beautiful surroundings and a great location (just 37 minutes from Norwich and 47 from Cambridge), Kingsfleet will also offer residents a wealth of community amenities and something quite unusual for a new development – heritage and history.

When completed, Kingsfleet will be home to 5,000 households with 3 primary schools, a health centre, community centre and much, much more. Alongside that, the development will have enviable green space with 40 acres of public open space, playing fields and outdoor sports areas, pedestrian routes and habitats for wildlife – not forgetting 12 acres of allotments too.

Preim will work with the Kingsfleet development to maintain the green spaces and community amenities, alongside growing community engagement as new residents move in and call Kingsfleet ‘home’.

As one of the first steps in creating the community and vision for Kingsfleet, we were delighted to see the development’s new website launch in recent months: https://kingsfleet-thetford.co.uk/

Showcasing the start of this exciting new community, the website gives prospective buyers a feel for the vision of the development – to “create homes and employment in a beautiful natural environment with strong and active communities”. In fact, the vision for Kingsfleet is exactly why Preim and the people behind the development are such a good fit – and we look forward to getting started making a difference as the community grows!

Just as there promises to be an exciting story ahead for Kingsfleet, there’s definitely a fascinating story in its history too. Kingsfleet is being built upon the rural estate of Kilverstone and The Crown Estate’s land at Lodge Farm. Since 1908, Kilverstone has been the ancestral home of Lord John Fisher’s family descendants – with plenty of stories to tell about Lord Fisher’s illustrious naval career. You can read all about over on the Kingsfleet website.

Have a look around the Kingsfleet website to get a feel for this new community – and stay tuned here, on our website, to hear more about Preim’s role as Kingsfleet grows and welcomes its first residents.
