Residential Property Senior Paralegal – Peterborough – Homeworking

A vacancy has arisen for a Residential Property Senior Paralegal. We are looking for:

  • An individual with a strong desire to develop their career. A confident, positive and outgoing attitude is essential, as is the ability to communicate both face to face, over the phone and by email. You should have strong IT skills ideally including experience of using Qube software and possess confidence in using Microsoft Office and Excel. A professional approach and strong work ethic are as important as anything else.
  • Strong GCSEs and A Levels are preferable. Qualified to at least level 4 paralegal diploma you may also have a Law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law. Those working towards Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILex) are of particular interest.  You will also be fully conversant with GDPR obligations.

The essentials:

To be considered for this residential property paralegal role, you must have at least 3 years conveyancing or plot conveyancing experience, along with a background of working in a high pressured and demanding environment. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to keep calm under pressure, along with a desire and willingness to learn.

You will need:

  • At least 3 years experience handling residential property transactional files
  • Previous experience of leading and managing a team
  • Familiarity with conveyancing case management including both freehold and leasehold conveyancing
  • Experience of dealing with land registry property registration issues
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Highly organised
  • Effective time management
  • Focus on accuracy at all times
  • Possess strong IT skills

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Lead the Conveyancing and Company Secretarial Team
  • Assist us with acting as company secretary for a portfolio of residents management companies located throughout England and Wales
  • Manage company records and statutory reporting for up to 200 management companies
  • Manage property ownership and transfer matters for 14,000 properties including:
    • Managing solicitor contacts
    • Responding to technical queries
    • Dealing with planning enquiries and permissions
    • Maintenance of Qube shareholder and management company data
    • Using Qube property management system to:
      • Prepare and issue sellers packs to solicitors
      • Prepare and issue compliance certificates
      • Prepare and issue share certificates
      • Prepare and issue initial shares
      • Record and manage solicitor calls and emails/ letters
      • Respond to queries relating to property ownership and transfer
    • Manage planning consent processes (Cross over agreements/ Build over agreements)
    • Prepare adhoc information for handover of management companies as required
    • Maintain company books and ensure full and accurate filing of Companies House returns and reports
    • Maintain Information Commissioners Office registrations
